Hotbed will consider UK-based businesses seeking equity investment of £1m-£5m. We take a generalist approach and will consider most sectors. Previous transactions have included growth capital, as well as management buy-outs and shareholder restructuring. Our investments can be via EIS eligible ordinary shares or via ordinary share and loan stock structure.

When raising capital through Hotbed, management teams will only deal with the Hotbed private equity team - the investor syndicate will be managed, pre- and post-completion, by Hotbed.

However, given the experience and expertise contained within our member base, we will often introduce a member with relevant sector experience to help us in the appraisal of the company and, as a Non-Executive Director to the board, to help deliver growth and provide strategic support. Our portfolio companies have found this to be one of the most positive aspects to raising finance through Hotbed, such is the quality, depth and range of our member base.

Commercial Property

Hotbed opens up the commercial and residential property arena to private investors by offering professionally pre-screened commercial property investments of £5m-£20m value in a number of commercial sectors, together with residential offerings, such as ground rents portfolios and planning opportunities.

Our experienced Property Team first sources the investment opportunities, after which we subsequently structure the deal, raise an appropriate level of debt and package the investment into units of £25,000, providing post-deal management through to sale of the asset. Many of our opportunities are eligible for investment through SIPPS (subject to trustee approval).
